In this episode of From Russia with Fear, we look at three disturbing cases from Russia. A suspect in the killing of a former beauty contest participant is detained abroad and says he wants to go to the war in Ukraine before trial. We also examine a murder solved more than thirty years later — only for the accused man to be released after a court considered his military service and awards. And in the Moscow region, police stop an armed sexual assault after the victim’s boyfriend runs for help. Three cases, three different outcomes, and the same question: how equal is justice when military status can influence punishment?
